COMPOUND / THE DETAILS

About

Compound is an Irish site about three things that compound over time: your health, your wealth and your life. It is written for the person paying the rent, claiming the credit or trying to sleep better, not for the professional advising them.

Who is behind Compound

Compound was founded and is edited by David, an Irish writer with a BSc in Biotechnology and professional experience in biopharmaceutical manufacturing. He is responsible for editorial standards and for reviewing and approving the site’s ordinary editorial articles. A clearly labelled automated earnings feed uses verified SEC financial-statement data and is not individually reviewed before publication.

That background helps with reading scientific material, but it does not make Compound a medical, financial, tax or legal adviser. Articles explain published evidence and official Irish guidance; they do not replace advice based on your individual circumstances.

What we cover

Wealth is Irish money in practice: tax credits and reliefs people forget to claim, grants, pensions, renting and buying, bills and benefits. Health is sleep, movement, food, alcohol, sunlight, screens and the common conditions, told honestly, including where the evidence is thin. Life is relationships, work, money worry, habits, attention, home, culture and the rest of everyday life, grounded in evidence rather than platitudes.

How articles are made

Every piece starts with a question people in Ireland actually search for. Before a word is written, we gather the strongest sources we can find for it: official Irish guidance and statistics from bodies such as Revenue, Citizens Information, the HSE and the CSO, and, for health and life pieces, peer-reviewed research, with a preference for systematic reviews, meta-analyses and randomised trials.

AI tools may assist with research organisation and early drafting, but they do not decide what Compound publishes. Ordinary editorial articles are reviewed and approved by David. Numbers, dates, thresholds and study results are checked against the cited source before publication. A separate editorial pass checks accuracy, context, usefulness and plain language, and a draft is revised or withheld if it falls short. Editorial articles list their sources and link readers to the evidence behind their claims. Our separate Company Earnings articles are published automatically from standardised SEC filings only when the financial figures and comparisons pass strict checks; the source filing is linked and the lack of individual human review is disclosed.

We name what a study is and how big it was, we say who a rule does not apply to, and we do not overstate. When a source is weak or sources disagree, the article says so.

Corrections

If you spot a figure that is wrong or out of date, email david@compound.ie with the article link. Corrections are made promptly and noted on the piece. Accuracy is the point of the site.

Read the full Editorial and Corrections Policy for our standards, review process and approach to updates.

Independence

Compound is independent and is not affiliated with any government body, financial institution or health provider. Advertising on the site, where it appears, is served by third parties and has no influence on what we write. Nothing on Compound is financial, tax, legal or medical advice; see the disclaimer.
